Chippenham Phase 2 sits on a former industrial site to the town and provides a total of 39 homes consisting of 1 and 2 bedroom retirement living apartments, over 3 storeys. The building is set within new landscaped gardens and is located opposite the Assisted Living Phase 1 complex either side of the through road.
The building creates a strong street frontage and connection with the Assisted Living block, sharing function and materials and creates a marker on the entrance corner, enhancing the sense of arrival into the wider site.
The building has a robust palette of stone cladding and red brick which are common materials to the area. Parapet gable book ends frame the built form, another common feature in the locale. The south facing, landscaped gardens have a direct connection with the homeowners’ lounge and entrance into the building; creating a soft, green setting for the residents to enjoy.
The proposal is currently on site with an expected completion of mid 2017.
