A new waterfront lifestyle

Ropetackle

The Waterfront is a mixed use regeneration of a brownfield and former light industrial site overlooking the River Adur in Shoreham-on-Sea for Hyde New Homes, providing 120 new homes and community aimed retail opportunities.

The new homes enjoy spectacular views of the River Adur, Historic Lancing College chapel and the South Downs National Park. This project early implements retail elements as a catalyst and part of a wider 15 year regeneration plan for the area which will see further commercial spaces, new leisure facilities and improvements to the harbour in Shoreham-by-Sea.

The masterplan deliberately encourages interaction and participation between private spaces and the public coastal path leading to the south downs.

A river front development carries a certain level of flood risk. All homes have been designed for resilience, locating habitable accommodation at first floor leaving the ground floor as ancillary areas.

Both residents and passers-by on the coastal path benefit from the inclusion of the retail store and the terrace café providing a destination to take in the views and create a vibrant community hub right on the river.

The finished scheme has three character areas, The Waterfront, The Apartments and The Courtyard. The scheme provides a mix of  one, two and three bedroom apartments and three and four bedroom townhouses for both private sale and shared ownership.
