Admirals Quay

As part of the Admirals Quay, mixed-use development HGP Architects Ltd worked closely with Bouygues UK to meet the client’s brief to provide approximately 24,500 sqft of commercial floor space split across 8 shell and core units. Each individual unit is additionally provided with its own ancillary back-of-house areas which are kept independent from the residential refuse and cycle storage areas allowing the commercial units the opportunity to maintain the logistical side of their operations without causing any conflict with the residential dwellings.

The commercial units with their associated external terrace areas help to provide a link between the 299 residential apartments also sited on the development to the wider Ocean Village marina and primarily focuses on the marina frontage and creates plenty of opportunity to relax and enjoy the views, enjoy fine dining and leisure activities whilst creating additional employment opportunities within the area, reinforcing the connection between the city and its historic waterfront.

HGP worked closely with Southampton City Council Planning department during the Masterplanning to provide a link from the marina waterfront to the existing commercial unit to ensure that their interest did not become detached from the activities of Ocean Village.
