Valencia study trip 2025

By James House

What a weekend in Valencia!

Despite Storm Alice making things difficult with torrential downpours, the HGP team made the most of every moment on our study trip — ‘soaking up’ the city’s rich blend of Gothic, Baroque and futuristic architecture.

From the stunning Mercat de Colón, La Lonja and San Nicolas de Bari in the historic centre, to Calatrava’s futuristic City of Arts and Sciences and David Chipperfield’s America’s Cup Pavilion, we were reminded just how powerfully design can shape a city’s identity.

A traditional Valencian paella was served up for the team on Saturday evening, whilst we took to Turia park and explored the city on our bikes on Sunday morning.

A huge thanks to everyone who braved the downpours, kept spirits high, and made it a memorable weekend.

Where next?
