Town Quay
Town Quay is a new landmark in Southampton which will comprise a new, luxury hotel alongside four residential apartment towers with commercial offerings at the lower levels.
The site has collection of 4 residential apartment towers providing 460 apartments and approximately 2,750 sqm of commercial space at the lower levels. The hotel covers over 14,000 sqm and has 132 rooms and 17 serviced apartments.
The 5 star hotel will be a unique and exclusive destination to visitors in the city offering up a bar, conference centre and spa facilities. The top storey is capped with a 360 degree panoramic restaurant.
The residential towers distinct forms nod to the city’s maritime heritage which are complimented by the crisp and clean material pallette. The tapering upper levels create a series of cascading terraces which gives residents unparalleled views of the harbour and the New forest National Park beyond.
The building’s use their prominent waterfront position as a statement piece to address the harbour and define a new destination for the city.
Public realm was a high priority for the scheme. We collaborated to design a new world-class public realm with a substantial waterfront boardwalk alongside the marina which incorporates a new flood defence strategy for the rest of the adjacent city.
