Town Quay – Planning Approval

By Josh Kabát-Rigelsford

Continuing our legacy of transforming waterfronts into landmark destinations, we are thrilled to share that full planning permission for the redevelopment of Town Quay, Southampton has now been submitted!

The mixed-use scheme for our client Nicolas James Group is set to become a marine gateway for the City of Southampton, unlocking new elements of the waterfront which have previously been inaccessible. Our contemporary designs regenerate the current underutilised area whilst framing existing historic assets and opening up the views of the waterfront.

460 residential apartments, within 3 iconic towers inspired by the dynamic forms of maritime history surrounding the city alongside an impressive destination five-star luxury hotel. The Hotel will feature world-class restaurant and conference facilities, complete with panoramic views of the city and port via a sky deck. The proposal also includes the expansion of the marina, a new Red Jet Ferry Terminal and a new landscaped public realm complete with boardwalks, plazas and viewing spots to embrace the waterfront.

The development of Town Quay is a unique opportunity to reinvigorate this key, historically important maritime site, and make a positive contribution to the City of Southampton.

Thanks to our team of Architects and the wider project team for all their hard work. We look forward to hearing the result from the planning committee later in the year!
